Caligor Rx, one of the leading clinical trial procurement companies in the world, is expanding its global operations offering full service clinical trial procurement of comparator drugs. To offer these worldwide clinical trial procurement services, Caligor Rx invested in new state-of-the-art storage and distribution facilities in London, UK, and strengthened its management team by adding new executives.
The new storage facility in London features mapped, temperature-controlled and continually monitored storage to ensure that temperature sensitive materials are managed according to manufacturers’ specifications. In addition, the new distribution site in London offers extensive logistical services and provides full accountability and reporting of drugs shipped to sites. These premium services include inventory management control systems and global just-in-time direct-to-clinical trial site distribution, which dramatically reduce waste and/or overage of supplies.
This expansion places Caligor Rx in a stronger position to serve its present and future clients around the globe. Each of the new executives are highlighted below:
Tammy Bishop, Director of Clinical Trial Supplies. Ms. Bishop has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Ms. Bishop was Vice President of Business Development for clinical trial supplies and named patient programs at Pharmarama. Prior to joining Pharmarama, Ms. Bishop also worked for IDIS Pharmaceuticals, where she was Vice President of Business Development and Marketing.
Ladislav Martiska, Director of European Operations. Mr. Martiska is responsible for Caligor’s European Operations. He previously spent two years as a Senior Procurement Specialist at Pharmarama. Mr. Martiska holds an MSc in Inorganic Chemistry from the Slovak Technical University and is pursuing a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the Slovak Technical University.
Patrick Von Lanthen, Business Development Manager. Mr. Vonlanthen brings more than 14 years of experience with the supply chain in the healthcare industry. Most recently, Mr. Vonlanthen was Manager of Clinical Supplies for XenoPort, Inc. where he was responsible for managing the primary and secondary packaging and distribution activities for XenoPort Clinical Studies. Prior to XenoPort, Mr Vonlanthen held positions with Amgen, Corixa Corp., and Agouron, a subsidiary of Pfizer.
Valerie Steenland, Business Development. Ms. Steenland brings 10 years of experience at Johnson & Johnson with a strong track record of sales success to Caligor’s business development team. She first began with Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery group as an International Export Coordinator for Latin America, Canada and France. She then joined Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho Women’s Health & Urology group in their field sales force selling to a variety of medical specialists, where she immediately became a top performer in the first hybrid sales team selling pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
The global expansion strategy is being led by Joseph E. Safdie, Esq., who is Caligor’s Vice President and Corporate Counsel. Joseph E.
