Tammy Bishop, Director
Ms. Bishop has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Ms. Bishop was vice president of business development for clinical trial supplies and named patient programs at Pharmarama. Prior to joining Pharmarama, Ms. Bishop worked for IDIS Pharmaceuticals, where she was vice president of business development and marketing. She also has worked as a marketing/communications consultant for Fleishman-Hillard, Metaphore Pharmaceuticals, and David Eng Communications, and has held senior corporate communications positions at OXiGENE, Gemini Genomics and Indevus Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Bishop earned an MBA from Simmons College.
Jess McKenna, Head of Customer Relationships and Quality Assurance
Ms. McKenna holds a first class honors degree in Health and Social Care from the Open University in the United Kingdom. Experienced in ISO 9001 certification, most recently Ms. McKenna built a quality assurance department at a leading supplier of comparator drugs. Her background includes responsibility for patient affairs at The Royal Marsden NHS Trust.
Valerie Steenland, Business Development
Ms. Steenland brings to the company 10 years of experience at Johnson & Johnson and a track record of sales success to Caligor’s business development team. She started in Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery division as an International Export Coordinator for Latin America, Canada and France. She then joined Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho Women’s Health & Urology field sales force. In that role she sold products to a variety of medical specialists, and immediately became a top performer in the first hybrid sales team selling pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Ms. Steenland graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in International Studies and a BA in Spanish.
Joseph E. Safdie, Esq., Vice President, Corporate Counsel
Mr. Safdie is responsible for executing transactions and supply agreements with Caligor’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. He ensures that Caligor Rx complies with the EU Clinical Trials Directives, as well as all EMEA, MHRA, and FDA regulations. Mr. Safdie received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a BBA in Finance from Baruch College.
Ladislav Martiska, PhD, Director of European Operations
Dr. Martiska is responsible for the operations of Caligor's cold chain and ambient storage facility in the UK. Before joining the company, he was a senior procurement specialist in the clinical trial industry. Dr. Martiska speaks six languages and liaises frequently with manufacturers and suppliers around the world. Dr. Martiska holds an MSc in Inorganic Chemistry from the Slovak Technical University and a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the Slovak Technical University.
Gary Halpern, Supervising Pharmacist
Mr. Halpern oversees procurement operations at Caligor, ensuring supply chain integrity. He has more than 35 years of experience as a pharmacist and as a director of pharmaceutical supply operations. Mr. Halpern spent two years in the United States Army as a sergeant for Company Chemical and Biological Warfare NCO. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Brooklyn College and a BS in Pharmacy from Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.
Lianne Kloppenburg, Marketing and Communications Manager
Ms. Kloppenburg is a founding member and sits on the Steering Committee of the New England Clinical Supplies Organization- NECSO. Prior to joining Caligor Rx, she held positions in business development and senior account management at Pharmarama International. Prior to that, Lianne worked in the Executive Recruiting function at EMC and spent her early career as an Executive Assistant to Cabinet Ministers in several portfolios in the Government of Canada. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics from the University of Ottawa and is working on her Masters in Leadership at Northeastern University.
Julia Knight, Customer Relationship Manager
Ms. Knight's prior experience includes positions in procurement and business development at an international comparator sourcing company. In that role she directly managed client accounts and interacted daily with key vendors to coordinate the placement of orders, monitor delivery tracking, fulfill invoice payment, assess lot details, and manage shipping logistics. In addition, she oversaw all incoming inquiries for product pricing and availability. Ms. Knight received her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business.
